Our Approach to Education
Ready for School, Ready for Success
Inspired by the HighScope philosophy, our educational approach prioritizes children’s interests and choices. Teachers challenge children to expand their thinking with diverse materials, environments, and interactions. In each of our many programs, children learn actively through direct, hands-on experiences with materials, people, and ideas.
With the HighScope philosophy, there are four specific goals all children are working toward:
- To learn through active involvement with people, materials, events, and ideas.
- To become responsible and confident—ready for school and ready for life.
- To learn to plan many of their own activities, carry them out, and talk with others about what they have done and what they have learned.
- To gain knowledge and skills in important academic, social, and physical areas.
To achieve these goals, we’ve implemented a robust Plan-Do-Review process. This encourages critical thinking skills, as well as problem-solving techniques. We provide a strong focus on early literacy, physical coordination, social understanding, creativity, and positive character traits. Our approach to education brings the HighScope philosophy into each and every classroom.
